Why kayaking is a beautiful addition to your self-care routine
If you have never been kayaking, then you need to go ASAP! Kayaking is the best way to turn physical exercise into a fun spiritual break from the chaos of the Matrix.
Mini vacation for the mind
Kayaking is like a mini vacation. Leaving the familiar and safe solid sidewalk for a couple of hours feels different than going for a bike ride or a hike. No paths, no roads, no traffic signs, only you sitting in your lil shell unplugged from the Matrix. Even though you’re always close to land, it feels like you’re somewhere else and whenever I get back to shore it feels like I went on a little mini vacation.
Strengthen unfamiliar muscle groups
Kayaking hits some strange muscle groups in your back. I work out more than the average person and I do it all from the gym to swimming, biking, boxing, you name it, and every activity targets certain muscle groups as I’m sure you can attest to. Kayaking hits muscles in my back that I usually do not feel after any workout and I absolutely love it. It also strengthens your wrists the whole arm, shoulder, and chest and it’s all getting worked while you’re enjoying yourself out on the water. It just doesn’t get better than that!
Reconnect with nature
One of the best ways to truly get a lil break from the Matrix and be in a real environment is kayaking on a sunny day. Being back in the hands of Mother Nature in your little kayak will awaken the spirit of your youth inside you once again, and there is nothing healthier than getting a few hours to be a big kid.
Perfect first date
Looking for a special place to take that special date? If your date is a down-to-earth person then kayaking will be the door to her heart. Find a lake or place where they let you rent kayaks and go for it. I suggest the 2 person kayak, where you depend on each other for movement and navigation, and you’re stuck with each other in a small space with plenty of time to learn about each other. Kayaking is truly a beautiful way to get to know a person and to see how much you are in tune with each other on many different levels.
Kayaking in Long Beach, California
If you’re in the Los Angeles County area as I am, then you’re in luck. We have multiple spots to kayak but the best place for it is in Naples at Belmont shore in Long Beach. Go check it out, you will love it!
