The Bitter Oil Blend

The Plant Extracts

The Infusion Process

Method

Cold Infusion: Cold infusion, also known as maceration, is hailed as the gold standard for extracting plant essence while maintaining its integrity.

The Bitter Oil infusion begins by submerging the 12 plant powder extracts in our oil blend and allowing them to steep at a stable & low temperature inside a vacuum-sealed glass container in total darkness for 45 days. This gentle method preserves the delicate compounds present in the botanicals without subjecting them to heat, chemicals, or light.

Time

As mentioned above our infusion length is 45 days. The minimum standard for a successful oil infusion is currently agreed on at 30 days. We go by an ancient tradition that requires 45 days. There are other infusion methods that can be done within 15 minutes or hours. Those methods require heat or chemicals that destroy compounds within the plant materials and oils and therefore are not an option. Even though those ways of infusing oil are counter-productive, they are the standard in the beauty industry for the simple fact that the quicker the infusion the greater the profit margin. At BITTERADE we believe that good things take time.

Rate

Our infusion rate is unmatched in the body oil industry and that is why we are not afraid to mention it. We do not use the word “infused” as a gimmick, we mean it. Just because a body oil claims to be infused doesn’t mean it is at a rate at which an oil is considered potent. For an infusion to be classified as potent, an infusion rate of 10% is required. Our infusion rate is always slightly above 10%. while the rest of the industry falls below 2%.

BITTERADE’s commitment to cold infusion sets us apart, preserving all materials, active compounds, and oils with unparalleled efficiency.
