Organic food is too expensive!

Organic food is too expensive! Says every ignorant person who’s ever sat in a drive-thru, waiting on their $12 burger combo ignorant about what’s good for their own well-being. And let’s say it was true and you spend 10% more on healthy food, so what? I can tell you this. You will spend that extra 10% later on in life anyway. on your blood pressure, depression, and diabetes medication. But as I hinted, the myth that “organic food is too expensive” is nonsense because it is actually cheaper to eat healthy and I’m about to prove it. Let’s take the example below. Let’s compare a Big Mac Combo to my own, let’s call it the Cali Burger Combo.

Big Mac Combo

  • Big Mac beef 2 patties    45 grams total
  • Fries
  • Soda

Total: $10.99

Organic Cali Burger Combo

  • Grass fed patty   150 gram (cut in half)      $ 2.50
  • 2 Slices of cheese         $0.65
  • Organic Buns                $0.80
  • Organic Onions            $0.10
  • Organic Lettuce            $0.20
  • Organic Pickles             $0.10
  • Organic Mustard           $0.05
  • Organic Ketchup           $0.05
  • Organic French fries     $0.75
  • Organic Soda                  $1.00

Total $5.60

So here it is. These are the prices based on an average day shopping for burgers. For example, 16 slices of Kraft singles costs you $4.99. Divide that by 16 and you get about 31 cents a slice, so I price the 2 slices at 65 which includes about 9% taxes. So that is how I calculated my price list. As you can see, it’s not only cheaper but even more importantly nourishing and healthy. I love burgers and they taste even better when you know they’re healthy.

And it’s the same with anything from breakfast dishes to Spaghetti Bolognese to your favorite desert. I understand that in this 9-5 Matrix sometimes the time to cook doesn’t seem to be there, but where there is a will there is a way. Meal prep or get up early. No excuses, make it happen. Your temple always comes first.

"I can't afford organic food for cooking my meals, it's too expensive"

Not gonna deny, it’s gonna cost you about 10-20% more to cook organic compared to regular groceries. And as I said in the intro, you will be spending that money now at Albertsons or later at Dr. Jeffreys office in time and money to refill your prescriptions and get new ones. Not only will you be preventing all kinds of health conditions but you will feel instantly better and more energized. Real foods are just better fuel, your body doesn’t like to waste time in figuring out what strange substances and chemicals you dump down your throat. Make it easy on your body and the reward will be well-being and good health. The choices of food are a cornerstone of a healthy lifestyle.

Is your body a trash can or a temple?

This is the question, and you should really meditate on that. Seriously, what is it? Are you a trash can or a temple? What you put into your body is the basis of good self-care. Just like a car, your vehicle needs fuel to perform, and the quality of the fuel matters. Try putting sugar in your vehicle’s tank and see what happens. Speaking of sugar, there are many substances found in foods that are more damaging instead of healing, which foods are meant for. And the best and only way to truly avoid them is to prepare your meals yourself.
